he Campo Limpo System is the Brazilian reverse logistics program for empty crop protection packaging or that containing
post-consumption leftovers, with its activities regulated by Federal Law nr. 14.785/20231 and by Federal Decree nr. 4.074/2002.

In operation since 2002, the System is a global reference in reverse logistics and an example of circular economy, and currently it disposes of 100% empty packaging it receives in an environmentally proper fashion, 97% of which is recycled. Its effectiveness is the result of the commitment of all agricultural chain links: manufacturing industry, distribution channel (wholesale and cooperative associations), farmers and the public power.

The National Institute for Processing Empty Packages (inpEV) is the System's managing entity and ended 2023 with 195 companies and 10 trade associations in its membership roster.

In 2023, the inpEV 2024-2028 strategic roadmap was approved, which priorities are to improve the Campo Limpo System and its contribution to Brazilian agribusiness sustainability over the next five years.

Sustainability as
a commitment

Sustainability is at the essence of the Campo Limpo System and permeates inpEV's activities since its inception. In 2019, the Institute became a signatory of the United nations (UN) Global Compact, by maintaining is commitment to its ten principles relating to human and labor rights, environmental protection and fight against corruption, besides the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda.
